Global Esports Federation announces Peru to host Global Esports Games 2025

Lima confirmed to host flagship Global Esports Games and annual Global Esports Tour

The Global Esports Federation has awarded Lima, Peru, the honor of hosting the Global Esports Games 2025. The unanimous decision of the GEF Executive Committee marks the beginning of a multi-year partnership with the city to stage one of the world’s premier esports events.


The historic moment was formalized by GEF CEO, Paul J. Foster and Asociación Deportiva Peruana de Esports (ADPES) President, Diego Mohme in Lima. Joining the celebration was Angélica Matsuda Matayoshi, Executive President of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ), and Jose Luis Farfan, President of Legado.

 

Peru’s esports athletes and community members, including GEF Champions Circle alumnus, Josselyn Abusabal, who recently represented the GEF at the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York, joined the signing ceremony.

To capture the momentum, GEF President, Chris Chan, has appointed GEF Vice President, Dr. Melita N. Moore (USA), to Chair the GEG25 Coordination Commission. GEF Board Member, Yaqui Núñez del Risco Mejía (Dominican Republic) will serve as Commission Vice Chair.

 

In addition to hosting the GEF’s flagship event in 2025, Lima is confirmed to organize annual stages of the GEF’s pro-series – Global Esports Tour (GET) – from 2024 through 2028. The inaugural GET in Peru will take place this November, featuring professional teams from around the globe in a top-tier Dota 2 competition.

 

This latest development marks a major milestone for GEF, expanding its footprint across the world’s diverse continents, bringing world-class esports events to new and growing audiences.
