A diverse #worldconnected where everyone has a place and feels that they belong
In the lead up to the inaugural Global Esports Games, the Global Esports Federation Board has approved and established an inclusive Team #worldconnected to compete in Singapore come December 2021. Team #worldconnected is an ensemble team of gamers and athletes who represent refugee communities, persons with disabilities, wounded servicemen and women, and other underserved communities.
“The Global Esports Federation was built to convene the world’s esports ecosystem. We believe in creating a #worldconnected where everyone has a place and feels that they belong. Team #worldconnected is a great opportunity to uplift members of our community who otherwise may not be able to take part in our flagship Global Esports Games. This initiative showcases the unlimited reach and power of esports,” said Chris Chan, President of the GEF.
Esports and gaming has shown its potential in bringing people together – building dynamic, multi-faceted communities across geography, gender, and culture. As a values-based organization anchored on the universal principles of equality, fair play, diversity, inclusion, and innovation, the GEF hopes that Team #worldconnected will inspire and provide opportunities for people to be part of an inclusive global esports community where everyone is welcome.
